Okay, so you want a Nexus 4. So did I. But navigating directly to Google’s Play Store will probably leave you tearing your hair out since the server keeps on crashing. I know, it’s an infurating experience, especially seeing as Google owns farms and farms of servers. Unfortunately, a few hours have passed since the Nexus 4 went on sale, so shipping time has increased from 1 to 2 weeks, to 2 to 3 weeks. Anyway, you best hurry up and order and this is how I was able to order my 16GB Nexus 4:
- Head to the Nexus 4 overview page, which can be found here
- Next, click “Shop Now”
- You should now arrive at the actual shopping page for the device.
- If you’re cool with the 8GB version, click “Add to Cart”, but I suggest you grab the 16GB Nexus 4 since it’s only $50 more, twice the space, and ships sooner (the 8GB ships in 6-7 weeks)
- To get the 16GB Nexus 4, just scroll down and choose the 16GB model (skip this step if you’re getting the 8GB Nexus 4)
- Next, click “Add to Cart”
- Now at the checkout page click the blue “Proceed” button.
- In all likelihood you’ll see a yellow box at the top of the page that reads “Due to high demand, your order could not be processed. Please try again later.”
- To get around this, continuously refresh the page using your computer’s keyboard command while leaving the mouse of the “Proceed” button
- Upon each refresh click your mouse
- I did this, and in about 7 refreshes I was able to get through
- Finally, punch in your credit card and shipping info and checkout
To reiterate, as of 4:08pm PST the 8GB Nexus 4 had a shipping time of 6-7 weeks, where at the 16GB Nexus 4, a mere $50 more, ships in 2-3 weeks.
