There has been a price drop for the Kogan Agora tablet device in the UK market, with the price now being just £104 for the 8GB version of the huge 10-inch Android tablet that comes with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. What the users would need to keep in mind is that the tablet is available for this price only in the UK market, and thus would be a disappointment for the US customers who might be excited to see the new pricing.
The price cut is for both 8GB and 16GB models of the Kogan Agora, whose pricing got down by £15, and while the 8 GB version of the tablet costs £104, the 16 GB one would cost just £114, and one would normally prefer the larger storage version because of the mere difference of £10. Just like most of the Android tablet devices, the Kogan Agora has the full access to the Google Play Store and compatibility to most of the apps, and it runs on the Android 4.0 ICS operating system.
The 10-inch screen of the Agora has got a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and that is quite fine for the IPS display of it. There’s a 1GHz ARM v7 processor bundled along with the 1GB of RAM, while there is a MicroSD card slot for the expansion of the storage in both the versions. The Kogan Agora has a USB 2.0 slot along with a Mini HDMI port, and along with that is a 3.5mm headset jack. We haven’t got any information about the battery, but the one which was launched last year, had a 5500 mAh battery capacity and that is quite a lot for the tablet to run for a few hours with continuous usage.
The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the USB 2.0, and there’s no SIM option (which one can’t expect for the given price and specs to support). There are two cameras, a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera for the video chat. Although this shouldn’t be something that can compete any high-end tablet from Samsung, Apple etc. but you could buy a few Kogan Agora tablets for the price of one Galaxy Tab or Apple iPad.
An year ago, Kogan Agora 8-inch and 10-inch tablet devices were launched, but then it was the Honeycomb OS and a few different specifications included, which are now upgraded to show a better tablet with a very reasonable pricing.
