Root HTC One X+ on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Official Firmware

Make sure you have installed all your USB drivers for the HTC One X+ to connect it with the computer. Download HTC One X+ USB drivers! Apart from just the USB drivers, there are a few more things that you need to take care of.

How to Root Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on HTC One X+

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to root One X+ on official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware. Please read every line carefully below. We suggest, read the entire tutorial once before actually performing it on your phone.
To Remember:
  • This rooting method tutorial is only for One X+. Please don’t try this on any other variants of the phone.

  • This will only work on Windows. Not compatible with Mac or Linux.
  • THis rooting method has been reported to work on HTC One X+ with the following:
    Software number 1.14.401.16
    Baseband version 3.1204.167.31

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 - Download Rooting Utility (RootBootV5.zip) to your computer and extract the zip file anywhere in your computer.
Step 2 - Connect your One X+ to your computer using the USB cable. Make sure USB debugging is ON as given on the first page.
Step 3 - Also make sure all USB drivers are properly installed for your phone.
Step 4 - Go to the extracted files folder (in Step 1) and run the batch file ‘ROOTBOOT.bat‘.
Step 5 - Follow all the on-screen instructions and your phone will be rooted in 5 minutes.
NOTE: Your HTC One X+ will reboot several times. Do not panic! That’s part of this rooting process.
That’s it! Your HTC One X+ is now rooted on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware! Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.
